TAILGATE JIT DELIVERY SYSTEM FOR DAIFUKU EUROPE AT UK CAR MANUFACTURING FACILITY

Pro Handling Solutions have completed the supply of a Just In Time Tailgate delivery system for Daifuku Europe.  Daifuku as the main contract integrator engaged Pro Handling Solutions to Design and Manufacture the Mechanical aspects of the delivery system.  The system required docking of a Tailer to the End Users building at which pint the system would unload Full Product on Platens and load empty Platens from the End User.  Utilising a False Lorry design the Empties and Fulls are able to transfer in one action, this enables the Trailer to leave the dock as quickly as possible,  Once the False Lorry is Full the system feeds the product through to the Line-Side point of fit onto the Vehicle, The false lorry and Point of fit are at ground level, the route requires the product to be in the roof area of the build so not to reduce floor space within the Manufacturing facility.  This requires a Lift (Drop Section) at both ends of the facility.  The system also caters for changes to the Build Schedule with a ASRS Crane system for Storage and Retrieval of Parts.  This ASRS system was manufactured and Installed by Daifuku Europe.

The conveyor system is made up of 24v Powered Roller Conveyor modules, this is to allow the system to be as energy efficient as possible ( 80% saving on equivalent 415v system) and a quiet as possible when running.  The run on demand nature of 24v Powered Roller Technology allows both of these requirements to be delivered.  

The End User required 2 duplicate systems in order to feed 2 Production Lines within their facility.

Lift Up Gate Sections
